The Lansdowne project in Uttarakhand

We took our first step to change the lives of millions from the beautiful “Land of God”-Uttarakhand.

In 2017, we got an opportunity to work on a pilot project for the Indian Army in Lansdowne, Uttarakhand. Here the locals rely on spring water, which contains dangerous water-borne organisms like bacteria and viruses. Another major challenge in this beautiful hilly area is electricity.

Lack of access to round-the-clock electricity in Lansdowne prevented us from running the Water kiosk 24x7. However, we found a solution by setting up an on and off-grid solar power system.

Integrating solar power with the Water ATMs helped in dispensing water even in the absence of electricity. It took us 2-3 months to complete all the installation processes. And our solution was a big hit among the locals! Because of quality, 24x7 access and affordable price, even the tourists would rely on the Water ATM.

This massive success brought a lot of learnings and satisfaction for us. Since 2017, we have been successfully monitoring the operational maintenance of Arosia Water ATMs in Lansdowne. We were glad to be a part of a project where Arosia was a much-needed cost effective solution charging 2 INR for 1 Litre of purified water .
